I saw a picture of this cute little ring today and I just had to post it to my blog.  I had just watched the Hayao Miyazaki  movie, Ponyo, over the weekend and this ring seemed like something right out of that movie.  Or maybe one of his other great movies like Spirited Away or Totoro.  It's just adorable!

Also, it seems like it could either grant wishes or give you some sort of magical powers.  Heh... ok, maybe that's a little much, but it definitely has extra cuteness powers.  I guess I'm going to have to start looking at more jewelry from Eternal Sparkles.  If this ring is any indication, then they must have some really great stuff!

Today's ring adventure started out a little differently.  Usually I just wander around Amazon until something strikes my fancy and then it all goes from there.  Today, I woke up remembering Puzzle Rings.  See, growing up my best friend had a rough, world-traveling uncle.  To us he seemed like Indiana Jones or something.  He always had some sort of "tough guy" job like working on an oil rig or crewing a ship or fighting sharks.  (Ok, that last one might be an exaggeration).  As a result of all his travels, he had all sorts of neat little treasures that he bought along the way.

His puzzle ring was, to us, like some sort of other-worldly treasure.  I think his was made of 13 different pieces?  He would show it to us, but never let us touch it because he said it was so difficult to assemble the ring.  Of course we bugged him like crazy to just touch it a teensie bit.  Finally, he relented and, in under three seconds, we had somehow accidentally taken it apart.  I just remember watching as this beautiful jewelry treasure transformed into a bunch of tiny hoops right before our eyes.  Whoops.

Don't worry, he was able to get the ring back together.... several hours later.

After focusing on inexpensive rings for the last few posts, I wanted to indulge my "sweet tooth" for some decadent jewelry.  But, and I'm blaming this on summer, I still wanted to look at cocktail rings.  Something about the sun makes me want to hop from patio to patio, sipping cocktails and mingling all the way.

So, when I went hunting for some new jewelry this morning I knew two things:

1. I had my heart set on a cocktail ring
2. I was craving Topaz for some reason

I can't explain it, but I knew there was a beautiful topaz cocktail ring out there and I just had to see it.  Now, I'm not sure I can afford this little beauty, but that doesn't mean I can't leave my browser window open to this page and fantasize all day long.  *sigh*  Some day, beautiful topaz ring.  Some day you will be mine!
