I saw a picture of this cute little ring today and I just had to post it to my blog.  I had just watched the Hayao Miyazaki  movie, Ponyo, over the weekend and this ring seemed like something right out of that movie.  Or maybe one of his other great movies like Spirited Away or Totoro.  It's just adorable!

Also, it seems like it could either grant wishes or give you some sort of magical powers.  Heh... ok, maybe that's a little much, but it definitely has extra cuteness powers.  I guess I'm going to have to start looking at more jewelry from Eternal Sparkles.  If this ring is any indication, then they must have some really great stuff!

Well, I started out looking for different variations on Two-Tone Rings.  When I did this I was actually envisioning writing a post about two-tone gold rings for men because I had seen some really handsome examples of that over the weekend.  But, I apparently have the attention span of a tiny squirrel because I lost focus immediately.  But, I'm glad that I did, though, because I found this pretty cute Stacked Patina Ring from Lucky Brand.

I guess the good thing about being away from the Internet for almost a month is that when you get back there's all sorts of new pretties to check out! So a week or so ago, I tweeted about this Multicolor CZ Cocktail Ring on Amazon.  Let me show you a picture and you'll understand where I'm coming from here.

At the time, I'm pretty sure I was poking fun at this ring.  I mean, look at it!  It's like somebody just didn't know when to stop.  It's like how you can't force yourself not to slow down and look at a car crash.  I mean, you know it's going to be terrible, but you just have to see exactly how terrible it's going to be.

Well, I think I looked one time too many because now I can't get this ring out of my head.  I mean, sure, it's still pretty over the top, but then I found myself admiring the person who came up with this thing.  There's just something to be said for a designer with this much chutzpah.  I can almost visualize the design session.  Some tiny eastern European  (or possibly South American) man with a flamboyant scarf, a woman's first name  and a giant mustache is frantically scribbling on a whiteboard and muttering to himself, "We have to get MORE into this ring!  We just HAVE to!"

Congratulations Lynn.  You did it!  It's a disaster that I just can't look away from.

I really dig on this ring because it reminds me of that clockwork owl from the old Clash of the Titans movie.  The ring is cast in pewter and adorned with some dazzling Austrian crystals and etched German glass.  I've always been a fan of Mary Demarco's creations.  Heck, and for under $40, it is sure cheaper than those crazy robot hamsters.  Also, I think it might be cuter, as well.  But, I'll let you be the judge of that.  Mr. Squiggles is a close second place.
